A Broader View has hosted hundreds of volunteers in Uganda, offering housing for up to 15 volunteers. Volunteer in Uganda Clean water projects, energy-saving programs, chicken projects, vocational skills training, family planning, and reproductive health programs are the primary focuses of community development projects. ABV Volunteers provides financial support to two orphanages in the area that serve hundreds of HIV-positive and extremely poor children. ABV can assist these institutions in providing these children with high-quality education and other services with your support. Programs can be tailored for groups of five or more who are interested in volunteering together. A Broader View Volunteers has extensive experience organizing individualized service trips for small groups with students, teachers, and families.
Volunteering in Uganda while abroad: Kenya, Sudan, Tanzania, Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo all surround Lake Victoria’s land in East Africa. There are 27 million people living there, and more than half of them are under the age of 18. It is home to one of the most diverse and concentrated ranges of African fauna, including the mountain gorilla, which is critically endangered, and the chimpanzee. Winston Churchill famously referred to it as the “Pearl of Africa.”
Our volunteer programs are based in the districts of Wakiso and Mukono. Subsistence agriculture is the primary industry in these areas, where 98% of the population lives in rural areas. The lack of access to basic necessities like health care and health facilities, voluntary HIV counseling and testing, and affordable elementary education for children are all contributing factors to this region’s poverty.
You can participate in meaningful community service while learning about the people, sights, smells, and tastes of rural Uganda through our programs. You can completely immerse yourself in East African culture by volunteering in Uganda. This is an incredible chance to make long lasting companions, gain another culture from the back to front and find that one individual truly can have an effect.
All over the country, there are volunteer opportunities in both big cities and small towns.
