1.Watch the Sunrise in a Very Special Place One of my favorite sunrises was on Mequfi Beach at the end of a trip through the Quirimbas Archipelago in the Indian Ocean, which is off the Mozambique’s north-eastern coast. We had traveled the 68 miles of the archipelago with my husband by plane, sailboat, wooden dhow, and helicopter.Diamonds Mequfi Beach Resort was our final destination after two weeks on the road.We were up early and on the beach just as the sun’s first rays started to peek over the horizon, eager to enjoy our last few hours at the beach before flying home.
2.Do Something That Scares You After taking a 360-foot plunge over Victoria Falls, the Zambezi River squeezes through a narrow gorge before boiling up into some of the world’s biggest and best white water rapids. This is not for the faint of heart and requires a moderate level of fitness, but if you’re brave, it could be an adventure of a lifetime. This trip, which I’ve taken numerous times, is definitely something I’d recommend.
A Pro Tip:From August to mid-October, when the water levels are lower and more rapids are accessible, is the best time to raft the Zambezi.Choose a reputable company like Bundu Adventures.
