“Back in mid-2019 I wasn’t in a decent spot throughout everyday life. I was going through a serious breakup, I was exhausted at work, my family was having issues, and my ever-increasing sense of isolation had pushed me into a depression pit. During that time, I went to the main positive thing I had happening for myself, which was travel and writing for a blog.
I made the decision to quit my job to travel after some thought. I didn’t give it much thought because I knew it was the only thing that would keep me from going over the edge because I had saved enough money to last me for eight to ten months.
The principal thing I did in the wake of relinquishing my position was to make a beeline for the Himalayas in India. I spent a month in the Kinnaur and Spiti valleys in the territory of Himachal Pradesh. The Kinnaur region was a much needed refresher. My soul was moved by the snow-capped mountain range in the distance, the lush greenery all around, the small population, and the friendly people.
