Since we had spent a lot of time in Ulan, the big force was split into two teams by the 17th stroke. Our five-car team was led by one of our travel companions, Huang Ge, and the other cars were led by another friend.
During our Mongolia desert tour, I also learned that the sand in the Tengger Desert was much harder than the sand in Ulan Buh. And definitely not a good place to start, as the weeds only made driving more difficult. We struggled for a long time to finally arrive at the confluence point, where we encountered two other teams.
We also realized that the Tengger Desert was a lot rougher than Ulan Buh because it had a lot of rivers and vegetation. Therefore, the summer and fall are the only times of year when Tengger Desert is at its most beautiful.
